Army Women United Chapter 68 is partnering with Military Women Across the Nation to host a unique baby shower for military families, offering much-needed support to expectant mothers and new parents in the service. The Baby Shower is set to take place from 11:30 to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 12, at American Legion Post 1, 364 N. 7th Avenue, Phoenix, 85007. Registration costs $15 and includes lunch.
This initiative is made possible through Military Outreach for Veteran Families, a program by Veterans First Ltd., in collaboration with the Phoenix and Prescott VA. The effort underscores a deep commitment to uplifting military women and their families, especially during pivotal life transitions.

Army Women United’s Commitment to Support
Sheree Bigge, President of the Army Women United Chapter 68, emphasizes the importance of supporting military families.
“I believe it’s essential that we support women veterans and their families. As veterans, we understand the challenges military families face when transitioning to new duty stations and being far from their support systems. We hope to uplift them during this time,” Bigge said.
Building a Stronger Network
Phoenix Chapter 68 members come from across the Valley, connecting virtually on the second Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. via Zoom. In addition to these meetings, they also gather in person once a month at rotating events at different locations, fostering a close-knit community.
“This social has allowed us to grow our chapter exponentially. By reaching more people, we are expanding our support network. Currently, we have 43 Army women and eight affiliate members,” Bigge added.
